A little late...

Well the bluebonnets have long passed, but I have a little bit of computer time while my little monkey is taking a nap. This was a freaky mutant bluebonnet my father in law found in one of the pastures. It was crazy weird, so here you go.

Texas Born

Wowee!!! The bluebonnets are spectacular this year. We even found a mutant bluebonnet out in the field. Briggs loved them and attempted a few bites but discovered they were YUCKY. These pictures make me so happy, I can't wait to blow one up to get it framed.

Potty Party

Well what a cool moment...Briggs was just a year and he was walking and grunting all around the living room. Brent and I just got curious to see if he'd comply with a little toilet time. OH MY GOSH!!! He went number 2 in the toilets.

Raisin' Chickens

Well, were slowly trying to become self sufficient. We've got our herb garden growing, and our chickens growing too. In about 5 more months our little chicks will become hens and they will produce eggs. So we can have our very own fresh eggs daily. We started out with four chicks but now we are down to two. Did you know you do not have to have a rooster to have eggs, only if you want chicks.

Slide

Thank you for the slide Fancy and Big Daddy! I love it! The only problem mama says there is, is that I think I am bigger than I really am. What ever that means...I'm really good at the slide and I love it!

Monkey Pinata

These are my first birthday party friends helping me bust the monkey pinata. Lily, Skyler, Sophie and I weren't exactly sure what we were suppose to do. Some of the adults broke open the pinata and candy came spilling out everywhere. Even the adults were having fun gathering some sweets. This is when I discovered my first lollipop. Mom let me suck on it for just a bit, but then she took it away. It sure was yummy while it lasted.

Houston came to see me!!!

Thank you Ya Ya, Papa, Ba ba, Uncle Brandon, Aunt Holly, Uncle Dustin and cousin Skyler for making the long trek to come and see me for my first birthday. It was great to see everyone and I had a really good time with all of you. Thanks for being with me on my special day!

Today was Briggs First Birthday. We celebrated at a very old South Texas BBQ restaurant called Joe Cotten's. Daddy had already taken him once and got the behind the scenes tour of all the smokers. Boy did we have a good time. Briggs is definitely a Bretzke and a Hoffman. He eats treats like both of his great grandpa's, he's was born knowing how to EAT. He was gulping down the brisket. Happy 1st Birthday lil monkey. What a wonderful blessing you are! Oh and by the way Joe Cotten's is known for their BBQ, but I think they should be known for their delicious (homemade) icecream. Out of this world, Briggs had the strawberry.
